2025 ORS Race Series

The ORS Race Series is meant to provide persons of any age and any fitness level opportunities to participate in family friendly health and wellness community events.  

We have participants from all walks of life. Some are on health journeys and the series helps them work toward their goals, while others are just getting into walking or running and are making new friends along the way. Others are competing for an end of series award. 

One of the many things we are proud of is the environment at each race. Unfortunately at a recent race it was brought to our attention that this environment was tainted by a couple participants who took internal accountability too far. A participant and their family were made to feel unwelcome, attacked and very inappropriate and hurtful statements were made.

As an entity we want to acknowledge that we will continue to work toward more direct communication on rules for all participants. We all understand that we do not have cameras or officials along the race routes to help govern this and we trust the integrity of our participants.  It is very hard to judge others on their gaits and intentions and some just honestly do not know.  

While we appreciate people communicating directly, we expect it to be done in a mutually respectful way. Disrespectful behavior is not welcome at our series. 

The Race Series Directors will be discussing this issue more at length. Together we are committed to continuing an inclusive and encouraging community event. Thank you for your participation!
