RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR JARDA/ORS RACE SERIES RACES:
The Series’ mission is to provide incentives and opportunities
for Jackson and surrounding communities to get fit and active.
There are ten races in the series.
Participants in each race earn points toward the series, so there is added incentive for people to enter.
Runners and walkers must participate in at least 6 events to qualify for age-group awards.
2 of the 6 must be longer than 5k distance
There are 4 of those runs in the ORS Race Series:
1. ORS 8k
2. Rose Run 10k
3. Firecracker 5 Mile
4. Run Clark Lake 12k
Here are the ORS RACE SERIES AGE GROUPS:
Run Age Groups:
0-14, 15-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34. 35-39. 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-66, 67+
Walk Age Groups:
0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-66, 67+
Twenty points will be awarded to the first-place runner and walker overall, with second earning 18, third earning 16, down to two for 10th place. Points are also awarded for overall Masters and Grandmasters top-five places, as well as in each age group.
Participants who take part in 8 of the 10 events receive an ORS Race Series shirt.
Those who participate in all 10 events will receive a coveted award announced at the award ceremony at the Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists 8k/5k, the following year.
Series awards do not include Kids’ Run events.
Age for this year is determined by your age on June 19th (Concord Classic)
First place overall in each age group will receive an award at the end of the series.
YOU MUST complete 6 events to win an age group award.
Ties are determined by the fastest 5k time.
